Jesse Ray Harper
Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals | Tone Architect | Co-Songwriter

If Mitch is the heart of The County Sons, then Jesse Ray Harper is the pulse. With his signature lead guitar work, Jesse gives every song its edge – sometimes soulful and melodic, sometimes sharp and explosive. His playing is more than just technique – it’s emotion, attitude, and at times, a storm.
Born in 1983 in Osnabrück, Northern Germany, Jesse grew up on blues, classic rock, and Southern metal. He first took the stage with a guitar at age 13 and never looked back. His heroes – Slash, Zakk Wylde, and Mark Tremonti – helped shape a style that’s powerful, precise, and always full of soul.
Before joining The County Sons, Jesse played in several rock bands and worked as a session guitarist in the studio scene. But in this band, he found the creative freedom to fully express his unique blend of Southern grit and hard rock fire.
In the studio, Jesse is the band’s tone junkie – fine-tuning pedals, amps, and tunings to get every sound just right. But on stage, it’s all instinct and raw emotion.
“A good solo doesn’t just fill space – it has to feel the song.”
When he’s not melting faces with a guitar solo, you’ll find Jesse riding his bike, crate-digging in record stores, or tinkering with old amps – usually with a cold beer in hand.
